Dear boys and girls,
Please gather no later than 10.00 am at the parking Langevelderslag 52-54 Noordwijk for the race briefing. Departure at 10.30 am to the Noordduinseweg 3 in Katwijk aan Zee. Unload the boat and gather on the beach. Start at 11.30 am.
The route is approximately 13 km long, between Katwijk and Langevelderslag.
We will start at 11:30 on Katwijk beach near the drainage canal. A lifeboat from the rescue brigade will be positioned as a turning buoy approximately 300 metres from the coast. After the start, round the lifeboat and sail towards a large transmission mast on the dunes after approximately 12 km. After the transmission mast, it is 700 metres to the orange container and banners on the beach. Finish between the banners.
Shuttling will be arranged on the day itself, so start looking for transfer options among yourselves. There are enough vehicles and there is also a trailer for the boats.
The Noordwijk rescue brigade is willing to follow us in a Jeep on the beach. If anyone drops out during the course, please call 06-41379094. Save this number in your phone. There will also be a life boat.
Safety plan:
Life jackets, telephones and leashes are required! The lifeboat will accompany us. If you drop out, please call 06-41379094. Look out for each other during the race and offer help if someone is in troubles.
The race is at your own risk. The organization has done what it can to ensure safety, but that is no guarantee!
After the race, the award ceremony will take place at beach pavilion Willy Noord, Katwijk (near the start). There is space at Willy Noord beach pavilion for a snack and drink at your own expense. Due to the expected good weather, it will be busy and we will be serving a “twelve o’clock snack” (soup and croquette sandwich; for vegetarians there is cheese soufflé) for lunch to ensure that the catering runs as efficiently as possible. After lunch, we will have a QR code for easy payment.

PAST EVENTS
On the day Autumn began, it was Summer scenes at the 7th Bollenboyscup. The Sea was almost flat with a little swell here and there. The temperature couldn’t be faulted, which resulted in what for us was a great turnout of 19 surfski competition paddlers. It was great! For some, it was quite a battle on the short distance of 12 kilometres with Sea water temperature of 17 degrees, it was quite warm up there in the blazing sunshine. After the finish, happy faces everywhere. Enjoyed lunch and drinks with an enthusiastic group of Surfski athletes at Strand pavilion Willy Noord ending a successful day. Our motto is; keep it simple with as much fun as possible. I think we succeeded in that. Thanks to timekeeper Heidy and Gitta, Arjan Bloem of Kayak.nl for all the prizes.
